What FileFixTools is for
Most people meet the same handful of file problems: a PDF too big to email, a photo rejected by an upload form, several documents that need to become one, a phone scan that looks grey. FileFixTools is a small collection of ten tools for exactly these jobs. Each tool page explains what the tool does, and just as importantly what it cannot do, so you know what to expect before you start.

How the tools work
- Pick a tool. Choose the task that matches your file.
- Select your file and options. Set things like quality, page ranges or output size where the tool offers them.
- Run it and download. The result is created in your browser and offered as a download, with the size shown so you can compare it to the original.
Your original file is never changed, so you can always try again with different settings.
Privacy: your files stay on your device
When you choose a file, your browser reads it and the tool processes it locally, using code that runs on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to our servers, and we cannot see it. The PDF tools load open-source libraries (pdf-lib and PDF.js) from a public CDN the first time they are needed; that download does not include your files. Because of this, the tools need an internet connection at least once. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

No ads, trackers or heavy scripts are loaded on these pages, so they open quickly on mobile data.

Common questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. Files are processed in your browser and are not sent to our servers.
Why did my compressed PDF get bigger?
PDF Compress re-renders pages as images. That helps scans but can enlarge PDFs that were mostly text. Keep the original in that case.
Can I search text in a compressed PDF?
No. Compression turns pages into images, so text is no longer selectable.
Is there an image-to-text (OCR) tool?
Not yet. We only list tools that work reliably.
